The Circuit de Catalunya is one of the most modern race courses that meet the conditions required to host major motor competitions. The Circuit was opened in 1991 and has three different routes, the Grand Prix Circuit which is 4.727 m long; the National Circuit, 3.067 m long and the School Circuit, 1.703 m long. Being constructed by EVREN® Engineering and Construction and owned by FIYAS (an Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Organization and The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey organization); Formula 1 Istanbul Racing Circuit is a project of national importance for the Republic of Turkey. The Circuit is scheduled to take part in 2005 Formula 1 racing program. The Site of the Project is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, 6 km from the junction of Kurtkoy on the north side of TEM Motorway, linking Istanbul to Ankara. The site is close to the newly constructed Sabiha Gokcen Istanbul Airport.

Since the launch of the first race, the Principality has known only 14 years without a Grand Prix, namely from 1939 to 1947 and then 1949, 1951, 1953 and 1954. From 1950 onwards the Monaco Grand Prix featured permanently in the calendar of World Champion Racing Drivers, except in 1952 when the organisers decided they preferred « Sports » cars to the single-seater Formula 2 (2 litres) normally retained for the World Championship. Ten years later, for the 44th Grand Prix, the widening of the road at the beginning of the Quai des Etats Unis at the foot of the Boulevard Louis II descent, allowed the création of a new zigzag which brought the length of a lap to 3,328 In 1997, the first « S » of the Swimming Pool has been drawn again. Die Hockenheim-Ring GmbH wurde 2001 umstrukturiert. Grund hierfür war die Tatsache, dass das Unternehmen ab 2002 für zunächst 7 Jahre als Veranstalter für den Großen Mobil 1 Preis von Deutschland fungiert und mit dem Projekt "Zukunftssicherung Hockenheimring" etliche neue Aufgaben auf die Gesellschaft zukommen. Das Fahrsicherheitszentrum, die Hotelerweiterung sowie der Marketing- und Eventmanagementbereich machten es notwendig, neue Gesellschaften zu gründen und personell aufzurüsten. So gibt es nun eine Hockenheimring Firmengruppe, an deren Spitze die Hockenheim-Ring Besitz GmbH steht. Als Schwestergesellschaften wurden die Hockenheim-Ring GmbH, die Hockenheim-Ring FSZ-ADAC GmbH und die Hockenheim-Ring Hotel und Gastronomie GmbH gegründet. F1
